about lashes.

Eyelash extensions are individual synthetic lashes that are attached singularly to each natural lash to achieve the appearance of longer, thicker, curlier, darker and fluffier eyelashes.

They are available in a wide range of different lengths, curls, thicknesses and textures and can be applied in different design patterns in order to create bespoke sets to suit each individual client’s needs.

They are attached with glue that is specifically formulated to adhere to human eyelashes. Most high-quality lash extensions are generally made out of PBT (Polybutylene Terephthalate - what toothbrush bristles are made out of) which is a high-performance engineering polymer. This material is soft, strong, flexible and has a natural glossy sheen.

Fake lashes and eyelash extensions are not the same thing. Eyelash extensions are individually attached at the base of the natural lash with a semi-permanent adhesive but NOT touching the skin. This allows the lashes to grow out on their natural cycle and not impede lash growth.

Eyelash extensions have been around since the late 1990s, used mostly by fashion models and Hollywood. However, since the early 2000s, many salons have started to offer this service and it has been becoming increasingly more popular since.

They can last anywhere from 2-6 weeks if applied correctly, longevity is dependent on the client’s natural lash cycle, lash type and aftercare.
