aftercare.
Do not get extensions wet for the first 24hrs.
If the eyelash extension adhesive comes into contact
with too much moisture before it’s completely dry there is a danger of
shock polymerisation or over curing, causing the bond to become weaker and more brittle.
Do not use sunbeds/saunas/steam rooms in the first 24hrs.
Do not let extensions come into contact with oil based products.
This includes: foundation, eyeliner, suncream, make up
remover, face creams etc. Keep any oil based products well away from the
eyelashes at all times as it breaks down the bonds in the glue and can
cause retention issues.
Make sure you brush your eyelash extensions at least twice a day.
Any lashes that have naturally shed in your cycle will
come out and it will keep them nice and tidy in between infills. To brush:
support the lashes from the bottom with your finger and brush from the top
with your provided eyelash brush.
Keep your lashes clean!
It is a myth that you cannot get your lashes wet (after
the first 24hrs) and should actively wash them at least twice a week.
(Everyday if you wear make up!) Clean lashes have better retention, as
natural oil and dirt buildup can break down the bonds in the glue and even
cause infections! Invest in an oil free lash cleanser, as if you come to
your appointment with dirty lashes - a £5 cleaning fee will automatically
be charged.
Do not pick, pull or rub your eyelash extensions.
You will naturally shed 2 - 5 eyelashes per eye a day.
On an average of 3 a day, in one week we will lose 21,
in two weeks we will lose 42 and in three weeks we will lose 63. This is
why we need infills every 2 - 3 weeks.
Your eyelash extensions should never be painful.
If you are experiencing any problems be sure to contact
your technician.
Do not attempt to remove your eyelash extensions yourself.
They should be removed professionally to ensure no
damage to the natural lashes - unless removing advice and products are
provided by the technician.
Do not tint, perm or wear mascara on your eyelash extensions.
Keep lashes away from heat to prevent singeing (eg. hot
hairdryers, straighteners & curlers, lighters, barbecues, ovens,
cigarettes etc).
